"Now we're going to go into pageant hair styles. I like to say the bigger the show the bigger the hair should be. For a daytime show or just for some events you might just want your hair naturally open, or tied back just simply in a bun or something. The main thing is just to keep changing the hairstyle. You should really find a good hairstyle, or just keep changing it if it's something that you're not so certain of. For an evening show it should be something quite flamboyant and to make sure that it's different from everyone else's hair. For an evening show I recommend a back combed hair because you want to appear like you have a lot of hair, so, it shouldn't be flat against your face or head. If you have short hair I recommend extensions because people normally like long hair and it's a beauty queen thing. It should be long and feminine, so at least to a shoulder level. Back combed hair might look too sexy so you might want to have it curled from the end of the hair so it appears more feminine and sophisticated rather than just plain sexy because some judges might find that a bit intimidating. Winning hairstyles are most of the time open and just back combed. Sort of a lot of volume is the key word. You should appear like you have lots and lots of hair. And that's how you create a winning hair style."
