"My name is James, Computer Hardware Training Coordinator of InterConnection. And I'm going to show you how to install an external hard drive. Once you picked out your external hard drive and have it home, first thing you want to do is install a USB cable. This only plugs in one way so you need not worry about installing them incorrectly, just plug that right on in there. Next thing you want to do, install your power cable. Of course you plug the other end into the wall. I recommend plugging this into a surge protective. Take this end of the USB cable, plug it on in to your computer. Now this removable hard drives, you really shouldn't have to any additional software, the computer should just recognize it. Now for the purposes of backing up, there maybe software that comes with the drive that you may want, you might want to read the manual, see exactly what that software does on the side if you want to install it or not. You don't have the disk for the drive, you just do a google search on the model of the drive and type in drivers and then download, hit search and it should come right on up. My name is James and I just showed you how to install an external hard drive"
