Summary: Pro Tools users can copy inserts with simple keyboard commands. Keep track of Pro Tools inserts with tips from an experienced music engineer and producer in this free video on music recording.
"There's basically two main ways to copy inserts. First you got to actually open up your insert and get the insert that you want. Once you have the insert that you want, you can see it in your mix window right here. So I have an insert right here. I can move it to this track if I want, but what I can also do is I can hold down the option key and actually copy the plug in in/out settings. This is pretty easy, just by holding down the option key. Now another way to copy this too is once you got setting that you want, you know, and the setting is there, you can always go to, right to file menu and save the setting as. Name your setting and then open your setting in another track. Once you have that setting open in the other track, you can open up your setting and you can bring it right up. Now once this, I mean, this is probably a one go wave I'm doing, you could always just press the option key and just zoom, but you can, like this is very useful if you have like, tracks, like you have, you want to put EQ over a lot of different tracks, you could either do it across the entire thing, just copy all the way or you can bust it out and effect all of them at the same time. This will go into more in another series."
