"When you have the auditions it's very important to video tape the actors. So have an assistant, have somebody who's just, you know, dealing with the video camera so you don't have to, you know, worry about it because you're kind of grading the actors and maybe explaining what the heck, you know, the movie is about or whatever. So just get somebody else to operate the camera. So, when the actors appear, you want them about, you know, maybe fifteen feet away because you want to get their whole body, just to see how they look. And also as they, you know, go on with whatever they're, you know auditioning with, you want to go and ad a close up so you can see a close up and see how they look, you know, that way. Some actors look really good in person, you video tape them it just doesn't translate and it doesn't work. And vice versa, sometimes you get very kind of normal average looking people and they come in and you video tape them and it's like kind of like magic, they transform to this whole other you know, persona. So, you really have to video tape to see this. Also when you video tape, before they even start, you want them to say their name and their contact information because even though you have it, you know, on their resume and their head shot, it's just easier to keep track of if you actually have it on the video. It makes it simpler for you. So you want to make this thing as simple and straight forward as possible."
