"The next step is finding your actors, and you have to put out a casting call. When I was in New York, I put an ad in Backstage East which is basically the actor's paper. And putting an ad in there is fairly inexpensive. And this is where your list of characters comes in. In the ad you want to put, you know exactly what you're looking for. If you're looking for a guy in his twenties who's like a hero type, you want to put that. If you want to put, you know, woman who's in here early twenties or in her forties or whatever, you want to be as descriptive as possible. Put the ages, you know, who you're looking for because that's who you're going to get responses from. Also, when you have them respond, I would get a P.O. box at a post office because you don't want to, you know, have it go to your home necessarily, because you're going to be getting a lot of mail. So, you know, invest in a P.O. box which is like you know, inexpensive as well. And that's where all your head shots and everything that the actors are going to send you, go. There's also the option of them emailing you their head shots and resumes, you can do that as well. I always find it easier if they actually mail you, you know, the hard copy of their head shot and such. If you're in the Mid-West or somewhere where it's a little bit harder to find actors, you want to contact your local, you know, colleges, local theater groups. Be creative. You want to find, you know, who you're looking for. You just don't want to settle for whoever's available. You definitely want to find, you know, who is right for the part."
