"Hi, my name is Michael Quebec, I'm here at the Heritage Kick Boxing Gym, in Union City. And todays subject is, how to learn Tai-Chi. Okay, so you want to ask yourself, what is your personal goals, and what are your reasons for doing Tai-Chi. Is it holistic health, is it to improve your fighting abilities in marshal arts, or your internal energy in marshal arts. There are different styles of Tai-Chi, so that's the first thing you want to be aware of. There's Chen style, there's Yang style, and each of them are slightly different, they're all considered internal marshal arts, the same way that Chi, and Pa-Kua are. There's one style of Tai-Chi which is performed actually faster, it's not what you would tend to think of, of slow Tai-Chi, it's actually performed fast, the way you would an external style of KungFu, and that would be an effective form of self defense, it that's your goal. If your goal is holistic healing, or holistic health, you don't even need to go to a marshal arts school for that. There are Tai-Chi instructors who teach at your local kaiser hospital, your local health center, your local community center, and that's Tai-Chi for health, just to get a moderate good workout. If your goal is really to develop internal energy, well then there you might want to seek out a traditional Chinese internal marshal arts expert. And of course they teach a various KungFu Kun, as well as, Chinese traditional herbal medicine; clinics have Tai-Chi instructors there. So you want to ask yourself, what your goal is in learning Tai-Chi. And then you want to seek the appropriate instructor, and find out what his qualifications are. There are governing bodies in China, and Hong Kong, and Taiwan for Tai-Chi. You want to find out where he has learned, or she has learned, and from there, you can learn Tai-Chi. That is how to learn Tai-Chi. My name is Michael Quebec. Thank you."
