"Hi, my name is Michael Quebec, and this is Bing Yu who's graciously consented to demonstrate with me. The subject for today is the wrist locks found in Aikido. Well, of course, Aikido is based on Jujitsu as is Judo is based on Jujitsu. So basically, you want to isolate the wrist. I want to demonstrate two wrist locks here. Here's one. I've got Bing's hand facing towards him, and I'm getting my thumbs right on the top of his hand. At the same time, I'm gripping tight with the; with my fingers rights into his palm just like this. I've got my fingers right into his palms, full grip here, thumbs right on top of his hands, right on top of the knuckles, twisting the hands towards him and down as I twist outward. Alright, so this is another wrist lock right here. Now, this one is a restraining hold, and keep in mind that you're using it to restrain somebody. You never want to try to use it, initially, in a fight because while I'm trying to grab the guys hand, here Bing, of course, can just clock me, while I'm trying to work that. So, this is more like, he's on somebody, or he's really king of groggy, and I just want to get him out of the bar, okay. I'm going to go ahead and get the bend of my elbow locked into; locked into his arm. I've got his wrist, his palm is pointing down, and his hand; the top of his hand is up. I'm going to go ahead and lock in tight, both hands right here. Now, it's downward pressure of my hands, and he'll just tap when he feels it. You feel it. Yeah, okay. Let me demonstrate that again. So, we'll go slower. So, bend at the elbow right there, top of the hands, and pressure, and with that you can walk the guy off. My name is Mike Quebec. This is a wrist lock."
