"Hi my name is Michael Quebec here in the Heritage Gym in Union City, and today's subject is the roundhouse kick in Tae Kwon Do. Well, it is a chambered kick. I'm going to demonstrate it from the rear, off of the rear leg. That means I have the foot back. Now, there's two striking points you can choose from. I'll demonstrate. They used to do it a lot with the ball of the foot, though there have been some people now who have broken their foot during board breaking, doing the ball, and so now some people like to use the instep here as your striking area. I'll have the foot back; I'm going to have my hands up. I'm going to bring the knee up and from there I'm going to rotate the waist around. So this is it; this is the roundhouse from the front position. Bring it down, or I can see if I can bring it back. There it is: roundhouse back, roundhouse down. I'll demonstrate it profile. This time I'm going to demonstrate it off the front foot. If I'm doing it off the front foot, off of the semi-Maldesay, I'm going to go ahead and lean back if I'm already in range and just cock the knee and then throw it right from there. If I am out of range and I want to get in range, I'm going to go ahead and slide the rear foot to the front, bend the knee and then bring it up. So, this is the skip up roundhouse off the front foot. Roundhouse off the front foot in place, in place. That is the roundhouse in Tae Kwon Do and my name is Michael Quebec. Thank you."
