"Hi my name is Michael Quebec here at the Heritage gym and today's subject is the punch pull technique in tae kwon do. Punch Pull another term for it is the reverse punch. Reverse punch in karate and tae kwon do in a lot of ways is very similar to the right cross in conventional boxing. I'm going to demonstrate it from a profile, so you can see my whole body. I'm taking a semi muljase or semi horse stance, and I've got my hands up, okay. Now from there similar in boxing, I'm going to rotate from the waist, the only difference is in boxing you tend to keep one knee, this back knee bent, and you tend to twist on the ball of that back foot. Here I won't do that as much. But I still going to pull my whole waist into it. I'll do it from this side now. There it is, there is the reverse punch, or push pull punch in tae kwon do. Of course in the yungs the hands are right here. In sparring you tend to have the hand more upright, right at the face to protect. But there it is. reverse punch or push pull. Reverse punch or push pull in tae kwon do. My name is Michael Quebec. Thank you."
