"Hi my name is Michael Quebec and I am here at the Heritage Kickboxing Gym on the Union City Hayward boarder and the subject for today is how to avoid a fight like a martial artist. That is a really loaded question so I'm going to answer it the best way that I know how from personal experience. If you think trouble is brewing and of course you always want to try to avoid anything like that. The first thing I try to do is I try to calm the person down while getting myself ready. I just put my hands up in a relaxed gentle manner like this letting the person know that I don't want to fight. That lets them know that I don't want any trouble and I'm not about to give them any but at the same time you'll notice that my hands are up, they're ready, ready to block anything that is coming. You will also notice that I kind of tilted my body at a 45 degree angle so that way in case any blows are coming down this way I'm ready for them. So you always want to make sure that you want to calm the person down, you want to let them know that you don't want any trouble but at the same time you do want to be ready in case he takes it as a sign of weakness and he is in an attack mode. You notice I've got my hands up, I've got my body angled in such a way to where I'm not quite as open and at the same time I am letting the person know that I don't want any trouble. When you do back away if you are going to back away make sure that you don't turn your back and you want t keep your eyes ready and aware of your surroundings because you never know if somebody is coming up behind you or to the side of you. So when you want to avoid a fight like a martial artist try to avoid the fight, calming the person down but do it in such a way that you are ready in case he attacks anyway. So that is how to avoid a fight like a martial artist.
