"Welcome to my studio, guys. My name is Lars-Erik Robinson, I'm an illustrator. Today we're demonstrating how to draw a monkey. Well, we're going to have this monkey here, climbing on a little. Here we go, put the hand up here. Holding on to the vine. Very hairy little monkey. Starting out with, as I started out a shape here in light pencil. I like pencil leads which I'm going to demonstrate to you. That when you take the pencil, you could take the side of it. That's why you have the little cut. And you can get the blacks and they're really good. You can take the side of it and it really shapes it. So if he's a black little monkey, we can pop that in, really quick. And also adds a little shadow to one side of it. And then when I use this marker. I use the marker when I want to go get the outline. Or if I want to get the real dark areas like you know, the eyes are dark. So that's obviously, you can use your marker right there. But you don't want to over do the blacks, all the time. Especially, if it's something you're spending a quality amount of time on. You want to stay away from blacks, as much as possible. But when it comes to sketching, it's o.k. Because when you're doing something real colorful, you can mix all your different colors together to create black. And that's really fun. But here's a little funny monkey and the front of the face of monkey's. Almost looks like it's a mask on him. You can always imagine that it has a mask there, with a string. And that's what's so funny about art. Is that you can always have fun, finding different shapes like that. Little hands and there is a. They hold on to their legs. And their feet look like little hands, too. Monkey. I always make funny noises like that. I don't know, everybody cracks up when I do that. When I draw caricatures. well, hope that explains to you. How to draw a monkey. Look he's hanging on a vine. Here it comes down here, behind the head, the vine. It goes down here and he's gone there. Well, there you go, guys.
