"Hi, my name is Chris with Aquatic Central here in San Francisco and on the web at Aquatic-Central.com and I'd like to tell you how to treat swim bladder disease in Goldfish. Now there is no actual treatment for swim bladder disease, unfortunately, however there are a few steps you can take to try to help your fish work through it. It is an intestinal disorder so it's a little bit delicate. First of all it's imperative to almost stop feeding your fish and keep your water very, very, very clean. Things you can do to help them with this digestion in the mean time is to add a little bit of oriam salt, that's non-iodized salt, not sea salt. You can also add a little bit of pimafix or melafix to the water. Pimafix is an anti-fungal but also used as holistic treatment in fish. The second, melafix is an anti-bacterial but also helps as a general remedy or general cure for fish. Just follow the dosing instructions because it will vary on the size bottle that you're using. Other than that you can try feeding orange rinds or frozen peas which you can squeeze. These will also help them with this digestion. And for the most part just keep, remember to not feed. Especially some of the processed flakes and pellets. These are very nutrient rich. And more so for the fancy goldfish than the common goldfish. The fancy goldfish really have weak intestinal tracts as opposed to the common goldfish. So again, maintain clean water, reduce, almost cut back on feeding and just give it some time. And with luck your fish will pull through from swim bladder disease. Again, my name is Chris with Aquatic Central here in San Francisco and on the web at Aquatic-Central.com."
