Number one, you will follow the steps required to purchase any animal appropriately, that is, what are the specific requirements, can you care for it. Be sure that your fish is compatible with goldfish. For example, this fish here, looks orange, may look somewhat like a goldfish. However, they are quite mean and will harass a goldfish excessively. This is a member of the cyclic family and is not appropriate at all to hook up with a goldfish. Some of the fish that would be suitable for goldfish, are the siamese algae eater. White Clouds is another species that is suitable to be kept with goldfish. St. Cliffs is another species that can be kept quite well with the goldfish. Again the most important thing to be keep in mind with goldfish tank mates is the temperature requirement. Most fish are tropical and not that many are suitable in temperatures of 70 degrees farienhieght.
