"Hi Jason Mac genius and today we're going to talk about pinging. So what we're going to do to ping is we're going to go to our HD, which is our hard drive. We're going to go into column mode, and we're going to go to applications, down to utilities, and we're going to launch the network utility. And then you've got info, netsat, apple talk, pink, look up, trace route, who is, finger and port scan. We're going to leave most of these alone for right now, we're going to click on ping, www., I'm just going to type in an address here, and what this does it's going to ping that website, which also is associated with an IP which is six six dot nine six dot one three zero seven one, and it's going to ping that ten times as you see here. And it's basically going to give you the round trip speed it took to get there and back for pinging that site. Basically just pings are really just used to check connectivity. So if you have a printer with an IP address you'd put that IP address into this field here, and you would ping that address. Just to see if you're getting communication. That's basically what ping is for. I'm Jason Mac genius and I'll talk to you later."
