"Hello, my name is Mark MacBayne. I'm the practice administrator for hematology oncology and adult bone marrow transplant at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center. I'm going to talk today about how to become a chiropractor. To become a chiropractor, you must go to chiropractor school. Before you do that however you must complete a course of study at a four year college or university. Typically, those interested in practicing as a chiropractor will major in a science discipline, however that is not required. If you choose not to major in a science however, the student must do all of the required prerequisites for chiropractic school. Upon completion of your undergraduate degree, you would apply to a chiropractic school, which is an additional four year course of study. Upon completion, you're granted the degree of a doctor of chiropractic medicine, and must then do a period of internship with a practicing chiropractor. Upon completion of the internship, you are ready to take your state licensing exam and practice as a chiropractor. This is Mark MacBayne, hematology oncology and adult bone marrow transplant at UCSF Medical Center."
