Video Transcript

"Hello, my name is Mark MacBayne. I'm the practice administrator for hematology oncology and adult bone marrow transplant at UC San Francisco Medical Center. I'm going to talk today about how to become a dietitian. To become a dietitian first you must go to a four year college or university. The course of study here would be in dietetics or in nutrition. Upon completion of your four year course of study however you're not quite ready to become a dietitian. To become a dietitian you must go on to complete a two year masters degree program in nutrition. And upon complete of your masters degree, you can take the exam to become a registered dietitian or an RD. Upon passing the licensing exam to be a registered dietitian, then you are ready to practice as a registered dietitian. Again, this is Mark MacBayne, hematology oncology at UC San Francisco Medical Center."
