"I'm Katie Adams, a registered dietitian with Decathlon Club, part of Western Athletic Clubs. As a registered dietitian and health professional, I do not recommend taking pills that claim to detoxify your body. These pills, and other supplements like them, are not evaluated by the FDA, which is the Food and Drug Administration, and so we have no idea of knowing, how healthy they are. I also don't recommend going on any sort of strict diet, that claims to cleanse the body. They often have you eating very few calories, so your energy needs cannot be met. The best way to cleanse the body, is by eating a diet, that is varied, and contains fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. The fruits and vegetables, as well as the whole grains, give you plenty of fiber, and help keep you full, as well as help cleanse the intestines. Fruits and vegetables will provide vitamins and minerals, as well as antioxidants, that are also very beneficial for the body's cells. Drinking water will also help keep the system cleansed. Additionally, avoiding foods that are high in fat and saturated fat, as well as fried foods, will help keep the liver and intestines, detoxified as well.
