"Hi, this is Liz Muller from Liz's Hair Design in Hollywood, Florida. In this clip I'm going to show you how to flat iron African American hair. We have a strand of hair here and I want to go ahead and take the hair, place my flat iron close because, usually, there's some wave or curl there, and bring it straight under and down, like that. Don't put too much pressure on it and don't use a lot of heat. Sometimes with the African American hair, hair that is like this here, you don't want to use too much heat because you're going to end up drying the hair, believe it or not. You want to use enough heat though to take the frizz out, to take the curl out. You want to go ahead and do this here, pull it out and in, and if you don't have a flat iron like this, you can do it with a flat iron, a Marcel iron, like this. Placing it in your stove, heating it and doing the same procedure. This is Liz Muller and this is how to flat iron African American hair."
