"My name is Shawn Connolly. I'm from San Francisco, California. I'm a sponsored skateboarder, and I also run a youth skateboard program, called SF Skate Club. What I'm here to describe to you, and show you today, is how to do a Backside Bluntslide. Now a blunt, is whenever your board is on a ledge vertically, like this, and your tail is hanging off the bottom and your wheels are on top, and you are on top of the ledge. Now a Bluntslide, is when you slide, and travel across the top of the ledge, or a rail, or the top of a mini ramp. Now, what you're going to want to do, is do a ninety degree Ollie, from the ground, and land in the Bluntslide position. Now, once you've gotten into this position, you're going to be traveling in a parallel direction to the ledge, so you're going to force yourself to slide across the top. Now, some people might wax the top of the ledge, so that they can slide across the top, or you can try it, do it on a dry ledge, and you tend to get the noise of the wheel sliding, across the top. Now, you want to lean back to get yourself to do the Bluntslide, and you're also going to want to keep your board as vertical as possible. The better vertical it is, it kind of works out to be a cooler Bluntslide. You don't want to hang too low on it, or it's not really too much of a Bluntslide. Now, when you've sled, and you're at the end of the Bluntslide, you're going to want to turn out ninety degrees, and land, and roll away. Now, just like with any ledge trick, you're going to have to be able to Ollie higher than the ledge that you're skating, and especially, for Bluntslides, because the most important part is the backside of your board, so you want to get that on top, and then lock that in, and be able to Bluntslide across, and that's how you do a Backside Bluntslide.
