"My name is Shaw Connolly, I'm from San Fransisco, California. I'm a sponsored skateboarder, and I also run a skateboard program for youth called the SF Skate Club. Now what I'm here to show you today is an ollie on a mini ramp, or a ramp. In this case, we have a quarter pipe. Now, the easiest first ollie that you're going to want to do is an ollie to fakie on the ramp. An ollie to fakie is pretty much the same as doing an ollie on flat ground, only once you've gone up the ramp, you snap your ollie, and then you head down fakie. This is one of the first maneuvers that you can do on a ramp because it doesn't require you to go any certain height, or to get over the coping. All you have to do is snap an ollie and head back in. So what you're going to want to do is approach your quarter pipe, or your mini ramp in the ollie position. With your feet back foot on the tale, and front foot somewhere in the middle of the board. You're going to roll up the mini ramp for a quarter pipe, and once you've gotten to a point where you're almost not going up anymore and almost stopped all your speed, you snap an ollie. You want to put your weight a little further forward so that it holds you in place, and then come back in and ride down fakie. Now, when ever you do a trick to fakie, you always want to make sure that you're looking in the direction that you're headed while coming down the ramp. This way you can see which way you're going, and it also helps to keep your balance in the right stance when you're rolling away. And this is how you do an ollie on a ramp.
