"Nowadays everyone is talking about energy conservation and a good way to do that is to put your computer to sleep. Hi I'm Charles Stewart, Jr. and I'm going to show you how to put your Windows Computer to sleep. The first thing you want to do is sometimes you want it to do it by itself without you having to do it and you can do that by right clicking on the screen and going to properties and you can go to screensaver. Now the screensaver tab does more than just have your screensaver come up. It has the power settings which you can go down here and click power and then it brings up schemes like you can turn your monitor off after 20 minutes and then the hard disc. And it will put your system in standby at a given time of what you want. So you can say after one hour or 30 minutes of you not doing anything on the computer which is a good way to do so if you walk away from the computer it will go into an energy saver mode which is standby or put it to sleep. But if you're, you know that is the way to automate it. But if you just want to do it on your own it's pretty simple, you just go down here and hit the start button and then you come over to where it says turn off computer and then right there it has a little button that says standby and you come over here and click on it and your computer should shut right down and go to standby and then when you want to turn it back on you should be able to just click your mouse and it will bring it back up to your Windows Log In Screen. That's pretty much it for putting your computer to sleep."
