"My name is Endre Sos and I will demonstrate to you how to pick up and hold your rabbit correctly. First of all I will tell you what not to do. Most important thing is not to catch the animals by the ears because the ears on rabbits are very very sensitive and you can easily cause serious damage. It is also not too wise to catch on the neck. Sometimes you can do this if you really have to stop the animal but the best method to handle your rabbit is to use a gentle and nice manner especially handling your rabbit will provide and build a nice bond between you and the animal. So first of all there is a difference between smaller and bigger rabbits and I will demonstrate now the way how to handle the larger sized animal. So you just use the chest area and make a gentle but support on the chest of the animal and after that you just take your other hand over the rump and make a scoop and firmly lift the animal and then the animal is leaning against your chest and you can firmly and gently hold the animal. If you are uncomfortable you can practice this on a daily basis but be sure that you don't hold the animal too high. If the animal is anxious and wants to jump out from your hands then you he is not going to enjoy this. The very important thing is that the front part of the body is the lighter part so you can lift it even with the other hand you can lift it and pet the animal. The rabbits usually will like it and the other very important thing is don't let the dangle of the legs especially the hind legs because this can cause very serious damage."
