"Hello. My name is Zephyr Clarke-Dolberg from Miami Dog Training. In this clip we're going to teach you how to keep your dog from chewing on furniture. Had he been chew, and again in this case we're using outdoor furniture. But had he been chewing on this furniture, right now sitting up there chewing, I would first give him a corrective leash jerk. No. Off. Leave it. And again working with obedience with your dogs is going to, is going to provide them exercise, discipline and affection. And usually those kind of behaviors occur because of boredom. So if we can keep the dog not so bored. Give them a little more constructive things to do with the energy that they have, then a lot of times we can avoid this kind of chewing. Now also, another thing you can do is if you do catch them chewing give them that leash jerk and then give them an alternative to chew. Give them the thing that you want them to chew, that's OK for them to chew. I like cow hoofs. Cow hoofs are a great toy that lasts a long time and they love it. This is Zephyr Clarke-Dolberg and this has been how to keep your dogs from chewing on furniture."
