on 7/28/2009 Thanks for the advice and the video clip. I was surprised to hear you give good and accurate advice, sighting 'sugar' as a main culprit to a bloated stomach, in conjunction with 'insulin resistance'. It took me years to wade through the tonnes of contradictory advice from so-called experts.

"Hi, this is Rachael Richardson, with Nutrolution in South Beach, Miami, Florida. In this clip, we're going to talk about how to get rid of a beer belly, and if you have a beer belly, whether it's from beer or whether it's from other types of sugars, usually what it means is that you're having some insulin resistance. Insulin resistance happens from too much sugar, and now sugar is also in beer, so just looking at reducing all of those types of foods, sugary foods, as well as yes; your beer is one of the most important things you can do. Now, as far as beer, I'm going to suggest that you actually look at drinking a nice dark beer, and that you reduce the numbers. And the dark beer is nice because you're actually getting some nutrients from that dark color. It has antioxidants in it, and hopefully, you'll actually be able to reduce the number of beers as a result from this richer beer. The other thing that I really recommend if you're having insulin resistance and a beer belly is that you look at fortifying your essential fatty acids, especially your omega 3. You can do that with fish oil that you take by a spoon or by capsules, and other ways that you can do that are eating free range animal products, particularly your eggs, your grass fed, so look for cage free meaning that they're out of cages; running around and that they're grass fed, and looking at other ways to increase your essential fatty acids and reduce your sugars. And most importantly, if you can, stop drinking beer. This is Rachael Richardson, and this has been how to get rid of a beer belly."
