"Hi, my name is Mike Sanders, I'm here to tell you about how to maintain a surfboard. How you should do as I do, do as I say, rather. Ah, the really, the key to keeping your surfboard clean, keep it away from rocks it's just a big no no, if you see your board going for rocks don't just say "oh, it'll stop there I'll get it". Try and stop it, you know, If you're wearing a leash, tog the leash, really maintain your surfboard and keeping it in good working order is going to save you a couple of hundred dollars next season when you think you need a new board. Ah, I've had this board for a while so it's pretty yellow, I haven't kept the best care of it, but I do keep try and keep it in this board bag. As you can see, the yellowing comes from where there's a ding, water gets in, the sun hits, it separates it, and soaks it. And it's really an ugly thing to see a nice brand new board, this is kind of old. But, it's an ugly thing to see a nice brand new board turn yellow from being out in the sun. So, the best bet to get is a nice board bag, this is just a cloth, really easy to make if you got a home sewing kit or anything like that. You can buy them pretty cheap. Just something to throw over the board to keep it out of harms way. Stored outside, inside, doesn't make a difference if you got this, it's it's own little house. Pretty much, take care of your surfboard, because, who knows, in a couple of years you might actually fall in love with the sport, and see your first board all dinged up might make you a little sad. But, that's pretty much how to keep your board. And good maintenance."
