"Hi, I'm Charles with ATX Audio Video. Many people ask how to choose an LCD TV. There's a few factors in choosing an LCD TV. First, you should look at the resolution of the TV. This will be indicated usually as 720P or 1080P. The difference between the two, 720P being the standard broadcast high-def signal. 1080P is currently only available on blue ray and high definition DVDs. Another factor to consider is the contrast ratio on the television. LCDs can have contrast ratios as low as two thousand to one, or as up to a hundred thousand to one. The contrast ratio is going to indicate the number of steps between the lighter shade of....brighter shade of white and the blackest shade....darkest shade of black. Another factor to consider is the amount of inputs on the TV. You should look for HDMI inputs, component inputs, and as video inputs. HDMI and components are going to be your two high definition video signals."
