"Hi I'm Charles with ATX Audio Video. Today I'm going to speak about sub-woofers and how to install them. There are a few things you should know before installing your sub-woofers. The purpose of a sub-woofer is to fill in the low frequencies that cannot be reproduced by smaller speakers in your surround sound system. Installing the sub-woofer is a fairly simple process. You going to take an RCA connector, connect it to the input of the sub-woofer, the other end of the cable will go to your receiver. There's also a few settings on the sub-woofer you should know about. First there's a cross over frequency. Cross over frequency determines what frequency tones are sent to the sub-woofer. The second is the phase. Phase has to do with the relation of the sub-woofer to the other speakers in your home theater system. And finally out put level. Which will truly determine the maximum output of your sub-woofer."
