"Hello, my name is David Brown and today we are going to talk about how and what to drink before, during and after a run. Now, the most important thing about any hydration process is water. You have to be drinking plenty of water all the time, every day, regardless of what kind of running you are plan on doing. Water is very very important. There are other things that have water in them, such as fruit and vegetables, they have water. Sports drinks, they have water. But, nothing compares to good old water to keep you hydrated. It is also the most controllable. You can know you much water you drinking. Not just assumed because something has water in it. Now, the important thing to do right before a run, is make sure that you have plenty of water in your system, ready to go and you don't start to run dehydrated. How do I know if you are going to be hydrated or not? On average, eight ten ounce glasses of water every day will keep you hydrated. Now during your run, depending on the duration, let's say it is forty five minutes, you want to be consuming roughly ten ounces of water every hour. So, having a nice stop during the run or carrying a water bottle, is an excellent idea. Now, after the run it is very very important and getting yourself hydrated is probably the most important thing that you can do to ensure that your body begins the repair process and that you recover properly, so that you can get the most out of your workout. At this point, this is probably the only place where a sports drink or a sports recovery beverage that is water based, is more important than water. Its calories, combined with the water will keep you happy, keep you safe and keep you healthy."
