Series Summary

Various forms of straight razors have been used throughout history dating back to prehistoric clam shells and flint shaving devices. Today, straight razors, also called open razors or cutthroat razors, are made of stainless steel blades that can fold into a handle. Despite the appearance and horror movie scenes, it is actually quite difficult to cause any major damage or cuts with a straight razor blade. An experienced shaver can largely avoid any dangerous circumstances by shaving in the proper direction and angle. In this free video series on shaving, let an experienced haircare professional explain how to shave a man's face. Learn how to shave, avoid razor burn and prevent shaving irritation. Getting a clean, close shave is attainable with the tips provided in this free video series.

"Five o'clock shadow is no fun. You've got to keep it clean, and we're going to show you how. My name is Sylvia Russell, and this is how you shave. Now, if you're going to shave, make sure you have the proper items. You need a razor, and you also need shaving cream, maybe some baby oil to soothe the skin, also some shaving oils are on the market, today, to help you get a nice sleek and smooth look. Begin shaving, wherever desired, but if you're going to be shaving around the nose and the mouth area, be sure to pull the skin top when you're doing so. This is going to help to stretch, and so that you can also get a much cleaner look when you're shaving. Remember to have some warm water and some paper towels or moist towels around to help aid in cleaning the shaving item that you're using. Shaving can be done very easily at home. Make sure that you have a mirror and some proper lighting so that you can get the cleanest shave possible. Make sure that you take your time, we don't want to risk you getting cut. Remember, this is how you can shave at home. My name is Sylvia Russell and happy shaving."
