"Let's discuss how to deal with a dog with a sensitive stomach. Sensitive stomachs are very, very common in dogs. They are allergic or reactive to lots of preservatives, corn, wheat, lots of things in diets, and treats as well. And so, the first thing to know if you have a dog with a sensitive stomach; discuss this with your veterinarian. They can help you determine what the actual diagnosis is. Is it just being a sensitive dog, or a sensitive to food? And then, the next step basically is determining what is causing that sensitivity. Is it frequency of feeding; not getting enough food, or too much, or is it treats, people food, or the type of diet. Once that's known; you can eliminate that portion that's causing the problem, and also, there are many diets on the market right now that are designed specifically for sensitive stomach animals, and these are generally blander diets with less preservatives; more things that are easily digestible, so those sensitive stomach dogs can deal with that. There are also lots of medications that can be used, but always ask your veterinarian first before using any medication for a sensitive stomach."
