"Let's talk about how to prevent worms in your pets. Puppies especially are born into having worms. Basically from their mothers. And so almost every puppy that comes through our door is going to be de-wormed several times as they're little. That's not necessary as they become adults. Once you get rid of those worms, and you start regular heart worm prevention, that's going to pretty much prevent worms from coming back. Check with your veterinarian's office. They will help you determine what heart worm prevention is best for your pet. There are several different companies that make heart worm preventions, but those are monthly de-wormers. They're given monthly and prevent most worms. Some do certain worms, some do other ones, but talk with your veterinarian's office. But keep your pets on heart worm medication because that's what's going to prevent worms."
