"The thing to remember is not all flowers are in season during your wedding. So when picking out flowers, make sure they're in season. This is Kathie Millen, and Vivian Miller with Austin Wedding Planners and Elite Events. And today we're going to talk about your flowers and picking the perfect ones for your wedding. This is probably one of my favorite things to do. Mine too. Color, color, color, color. This is, this can be so simple or it can be extravagant. Pick your colors and sometimes adding just a little splash of something else, it makes all the difference in the world. So before you pick out, before you go to a florist, make sure that you do have your colors. And another thing that I always suggest to the brides is bring pictures. Get all of those magazines you've been buying and go through them and pull out ones you absolutely love, then most importantly, pull out things that you hate. That is the biggest help for florists and for wedding coordinators to help find out your style. That's right, your likes and your dislikes. Everything that you like and dislike, and like Kathie said, the style of your bouquet, the style of your bridesmaid's bouquet, even your groom and the groomsman's boutonniere, what your mom and grandma will want. So having all those pictures of things you like and dislike is very important. I think sometimes the bride has her mind thinking one design and you may not be able to tell a florist exactly what you're thinking there. So florists love to see the pictures, and it's very helpful. Bring in different colors, different textures, berries, colors, it's lots of fun to bring in different items. And if you have concerns, ask your florist. A lot of moms of the bride don't necessarily want pins anymore. They're doing a lot of magnets or nosegays, ask your florist, because of their dress, they don't want their dresses ruined being pinned on. But the grandmothers, however, always love the pin on corsage. So ask your florist those questions. What's best for them. And if you do have a truly good florist, they're going to incorporate your sense of style, help you design, and most of them can reach any budget no matter what budget you have. So get armed before you go to those florists and they'll help you out. That's correct. This is Kathie Millen, and Vivian Miller. Have fun picking flowers."
