Video Transcript

"Hi my name is Floyd,I am talking to you again today from The Acoustics Musicians dot com, in Sandy Utah and we are here to talk about building your own Electric Guitar Pick up. Most people do not build their own pick ups. The reason being you usually need a pick up winder or something to wind the pick up. The pick up here consists of magnets and a bobbin that has a several hundreds wraps of very thin wire around that pick up. And that amount of wraps on that pick up determine whether how hot that pick up is, or hot meaning how hot that out put is, or whether it is a warmer pick up which means it does not have that much out put. You could build your own pick up, but it would be for the average person, it would be probably not very cost affective and unless you have a degree or a background in electronics it would be a very difficult thing to do."
