"Hi my name is Jill Weiss and I'm going to give you a few tips on how to coach a kid's warm-up drill. Main thing with young kids soccer any sport or you know just being active, you want to always make it fun. You don't want to make it seem like work. So, you know with the warm-up, it doesn't have to be you know line, sprinting back and forth, you know running in a circle things like that. An example of a good warm-up drill would be something called stuck in the mud. It's almost like a freeze tag game. You could have them you know be in the length of the soccer field just have them spread out and choose somebody to be the tagger ultimately. You know have them run around and you know try and tag as many people as they can and the object you know stuck in the mud is you know feet are stuck together and they're spread apart and the only way that you know they can get unfrozen is by somebody else that is not frozen you know run underneath their feet to unfreeze them. That's kind of the idea. You know you can do this about five to ten minutes. You know just getting their heartbeats you know their heart rates up and warming all their muscles things like that. That is definitely a good start for you know young kids. Of course, you want to incorporate a little bit of stretching after you know every warm-up. So, that's just a little bit of tips on how to coach a youth kid's soccer warm-up."
