"Hi my name is Jamie Cevallas otherwise known as the swing mechanic and I'm discussing on base percentage. On base percentage is to me one of the most important stats of an offensive player. And it takes a new count every single time you step up to the plate. Whether you get walked, hit by the pitch, you get a base hit or you strike out. It takes in every at bat that you have. And what it does is it calculates how often do you actually reach a base when you get up to the plate. Here's how you calculate on base percentage and I do advise players out there to know this and to use this statistic. It's hits plus your base on balls which is walks, plus your hits by pitches. Take one for the team every now and then. Ok hits plus walks plus hits by pitch and divide that by your at bats plus your walks plus your hits by pitches plus your sacrifice flies. What this bottom is, is really all your at bats. Ok. So this fraction will give you your own base percentage. Very important equation also important in the obs statistic which is the measure of a player's offensive worth. The best measurement we have. Look into obs as well and this is Jamie Cevallas talking about on base percentage thank you."
