"Dave Erb here from Dave's Ultimate Automotive and we are going to be talking about how to maintain and extend the life of your tires. Tires are a huge investment these days, it makes much much more sense to take care of them then to replace them when you don't need to. The best way to take care of your car's tires is A. check your tire pressure regularly at least every oil change. If not sooner, check your tire pressure, make sure you maintain proper tire pressure. If you don't have proper tire pressure, if it runs too low, the outside of it would wear prematurely, if you are running with too much air in it the middle part of the tire will wear prematurely. Rotate and balance your tires. I recommend every six to ten thousand miles, every other oil change is a good miles for that, a good basis for that, every other oil change, rotate and balance those tires. That will keep you evenly wearing from front to back. Because normally front tires will wear faster then back tires. It takes all the turning, you have a little bit of a different angles in the front that are a little bit hard on the tires and just much more friction in the front. So keeping those tires rotated and balanced every other oil change will also extend the life of the tire. Periodic alignment checks, another good way to extend the life of the tire, if you get alignment, a slightly out it may not show up in the way the car drives or feels but that little bit of extra friction will definitely wear that tire out much quicker. So you follow these easy steps and you can get, expect to get full life out of your tires and not have to buy tires as soon."
