"Hi, my names Lincoln Ward, I'm a USPTA Certified Tennis Pro here in Austin, Texas with Lone Star Tennis Company. Today, we're going to talk about how to regrip your tennis racket. When your racket starts to get frayed and ripped up along the grip, that's about time to choose a replacement grip. There's generally two different categories. Over-grips and replacement grips. If you're looking to completely replace your existing grip. Taking the existing one off and going straight from the handle. You want to choose a replacement grip. They have a little more cushion and they're a little more durable than the over-grip. Your over-grip is designed to go over the existing grip, just like it sounds, and give you a little bit more playability in the grip that you currently have. Today, we're going to use an over-grip and wrap it around this racket right here which, as you can see, has a little bit of fray edges. Still works pretty well, but we want to kind of increase the tension we have in the tackiness. So, when we grip our racket the first thing we have to do is pull off the little plastic lining on the grip. Generally, they put it on there to keep it nice and fresh. You start off at the bottom of the racket, putting pressure with your finger or your thumb right at the base, and slowly wrap around until you're completely a little over one circle around and then it will start to hold it's own pressure. At which you start going up the racket, rotating around, spinning your racket, moving upwards until you reach the top of the racket, at which time you're going to put a piece of grip tape on the top. If you don't have grip tape, electrical tape works just fine. That's how you grip a racket. I'm Lincoln Ward, thanks a lot."
