"Hey, I'm Mike, and today I'm going to show you how to throw a split finger fast ball. Whenever you're gripping the ball is the first step to throwing the split finger. As you grip the baseball you want to grip with the seams, with a split finger grip. Here you're going to grip the finger with a set of split fingers between your pointer finger and your middle finger. The ball should be slid gently in and it shouldn't be forced. The difference between forcing the ball in and gently placing it is the difference between a split finger and a forced ball. The split finger should have more rotation on it and should be a faster pitch than the forced ball. I will now demonstrate how to throw the split finger. And that's how you throw a split finger fast ball."
