"Hey I'm Mike and I'm going to show you how to grip a sinker ball. When gripping a sinker ball, you first want to grab your baseball. You want to grab the baseball along the seams of the ball. When you grab the ball you want to dig the ball deep into your fingertips as shown here. And as this ball is gripped like this, when you throw you will bring it back and you will release just as a fast ball, you will stay behind the baseball with your fingers and you allow the ball to come out of your fingertips like this. As the ball nears the plate it should tumble and lose speed as well as drop. This is where the grip becomes effective. If thrown wrong or gripped wrong, the ball will lose it's movement and it will become a fastball. This is important that you are gripping the ball in the right manner or you will not have success with this pitch. I will demonstrate how to pitch this ball. And that's how you throw, that's how you grip a sinker."
