"Shiatsu an effective way to treat the body energetically. Hi I'm Christina Bjergo, I'm a Licensed Shiatsu Japanese Massage Practitioner and we are going to talk about Shiatsu for constipation, some techniques you can apply at home. So one of the first ones is to use the hand, the four fingers against the wrist, go to the end and massage close to the bone. This is a great one specifically for treating the large intestines and using some movement helps encourage some flow of bowel movement. You can also apply this to the other side. We can also treat the large intestine channel to help relieve constipation using the crease in the elbow, go to the end of the crease and apply pressure there. Again what you do on one side you can also apply to the other. Finally a great point is to get close to the area of discomfort and go to the naval line outward and apply pressure in a comfortable pattern. This can be also followed up with some downward sweeping particularly on the right hand side just to encourage the natural flow of the large intestine. These are just a few Shiatsu techniques that can be helpful for constipation."
