"This is financial adviser Patrick Munro discussing about what are the best mutual funds to invest in. Mutual funds are a trillion dollar marketplace. They're widely available to individuals that are in the accumulation phase of life. That is to say they are trying to put money away for retirement when they are not working. And it's a great opportunity for you to accumulate dollars going forward at which time you'll use that nest egg that you have built up and slowly start taking an income to replace the income that you used to have when you were working. That being said mutual funds have rules and the most notable rules are past performance, there's no indication of fair value, and may lose value and not insured by any federal government agency. So be mindful of your risk tolerance, the younger you are the more risk you can assume and as you get older make sure you pare back on the risk.
