"This is financial adviser Patrick Munro talking about what are strategic income funds. Strategic by its very nature basically talks about a fund manager setting up on a strategy to grow the funds value using certain income models. Income vehicles range from bonds to stocks, to dividends etcetera. This is a very mathematical driven venture and the fund manager has to be very much a value investor as well. Looking for stocks that are going to throw off a significant income streams back into the fund. And of course this is a function of how successful the stocks are and how much income they in turn can bring back to the funds. So it's a very much an actively managed role that is necessary for the fund manager to play in this area known as actively managed funds strategic income funds. This is financial adviser Patrick Munro."
