"An alternative to the I chord is to make a braided tie, where you would take three lengths of yarn, and they can be different colors, if you want, you can have all the same. You just want to make them all the same length, or there abouts, you can always adjust it later. And you're going to make a knot at the top, and then you're going to braid them, much the way you would braid a girls hair. And you're just going to keep wrapping the yarn over to make that braid, and this is another way you can make a tie, and you can make it as loose or as tight as you want. And when you're done you can attach it to the bottom of that ear flap, and just keep braiding. So then when that's done, we'll just pretend that's done, you would take it to the end of the ear flap, and you would take the yarn and run it through the end of the ear flap, and you could tie it in, and then you weave in all your ends."
