"So for starting off, we're going to make the ear flap and by doing that I'm going to teach you how to do a make one increase. Make our slip knot and we're only going to cast on three stitches because this is going to have a bit of a triangular bottom. So I got my three stitches and I'm using my double pointed needle. And I'm going to first off just knit three, turn it around. I'm using double points as regular needles. And pearl back. And now here comes the make one. I'm going to knit my first stitch and then what I'm going to do is I going to take this bar that runs between the stitches and I'm going to lift it up on to my left hand needle. And then I'm going to knit in to the back of that and now I've made another stitch where there was none. Knit one more. Again, I'm going to find that bar which is in between the stitches. I'm going to lift it up and I'm going to knit in to the back of that stitch and I'm going to knit the next stitch. Then I will pearl back. And by doing this, I going to be increasing two stitches every knit row. Every right side row, until I have the desired number of stitches to make a big enough ear flap. And what you'll begin to see is a decorative hole. So, again, here I am. I'm going to lift up that bar and knit in to the back. Knit to the last stitch, find that bar and knit it. And what you're going to get ultimately is little holes on the edges which will look more decorative and will end up looking like this when it's all made."
