"Once you've got your twenty one stitches cast on, you'll be ready to begin your rib stitch. So you're going to insert the needle from front to back and begin with a knit stitch. Then, you're going to bring your yarn in front and you're going to go from back to front and do a purl stitch. You're going to continue yarn in back for the knit stitch, yarn in front for the purl stitch. I'm knitting continental style so I've got my yarn coming around my left hand. So, it'll be the knit stitch and the yarn in front purl stitch. You'll keep going back and forth with your knit stitch and your purl stitch and you'll continue this way on every row. Once you finish your first set up row of the rib stitch you'll be able to knit your knits and purl your purls as they come along. So, I'm finishing that row and then I'll show you how to read your stitches to know what you're going to do. So, when you come back you're going to see that you're knitting any stitch that's flat and you're purling any stitch that's got this bump along the needle. You'll continue that way for five rows."
