"As you are knitting along you will reach a point where you have run out of yarn. We are pretending that you have run out of one ball of yarn and it's time to add another yarn or it could be that you wanted to make a striped scarf so you are adding a different color. So you'll take your new yarn and you're going to knit it just like if it was still attached. Put your needle in at the ready, take your new yarn and just drape it over the needle and you're going to pull that new stitch through and it's all really loose and that's normal. So you've got that first stitch on there, that green stitch. I'm going to go on to the second stitch and here's where I do something to tighten it up. I'm going to take the tail and the ball yarn of the new yarn on one hand and I'm going to tighten my last stitch with the white yarn. Now I like to wrap my yarn tails as I go so there is less finishing to do so I'm going to take that white yarn and I'm going to put it on top of there so that when I bring this up it is already caught in thee and it is starting to be woven in. One time only I knit with the tail and the ball yarn because I find that this tightens everything up whereas it was really loose before and now it is tight. The rest of the ball row I am only knitting with the ball yarn. I am going to continue though to wrap this white yarn in so that I don't have any tails to weave in later. It is a little bit clumsy until you get the hang of it but you just knit your stitch and I'm taking that white yarn, a lot of tails here and I'm putting it over the other so you can consider it wrapping it inside, wrapping it over, either way you are pulling it along so it is running behind and that way you can just snip this end and you don't have more tails to weave in."
