"Now I want to show you how to single crochet and the difference between a slip stitch and a single crochet stitch. For a single crochet, you're going to take your hook and you're going to go into the base of the stitch and you're going to stick the hook through and you're going to have both these of the stitch on the hook, wrap the yarn, pull it through, I've got two loops on the hook, and I'm going to wrap the yarn again and pull it through. So again, with a single crochet, I've put my hook through both legs of that stitch, bring my yarn through, wrap, bring my yarn through. And you can see there's nice height there in that stitch. For a slip stitch, I would go in the same way and I would bring my yarn through, I've got the two loops, but I would slip it through here. I'm just looking to get the yarn from point A to point Z, I'm not looking to add height. So slip stitch slips through all the stitches, and you can see that there's a difference, here's the height in the single crochet and then the slip stitch is far more dense."
