"Now what I can do is if I have a certain part that I want to record over, I can always, I can punch in the record. Punching in the record basically lets me play the audio and then when I hit the record button, it starts recording. So I can actually play this right, and now the second bar comes on. I can press record button, it's going to start recording. So I can record over whatever I had there before. Hit the space bar so now that whatever, now the second bar can be filled with whatever I want to record over it. So I'm basically punching in at a certain moment within the next, this helps with any types of like punching with vocals. People do this a lot with vocals. If they mess up on a certain word, you can always go back and just fix that certain word. Or if there's too many words and they need to go over on themselves, also you can do that just for an effect act. It creates like a certain type of sound when you like go over your own voice. R and B singers do it a lot, things like that. Punching is definitely key to recording and definitely helps with the whole process as far as like doing takes over again and starting from the very beginning."
