"One of the ways to make your cat's life more interesting is to feed it in unusual ways. Your cat is a predator by nature. Out in the wild cats hunt for their food, chase it down and kill it and eat it. Usually in our homes indoor cats eat out of a dish that's in the same place at the same time every day. Sort of boring. So a very easy way to make it interesting for your cats is to take an empty paper towel roll like this. I folded the end as you can see to close it up a little bit and then cut just a couple of holes in it. Then what we can do is we can just put some dry food in the tube like this. Some of it's going to spill out right away. That's okay. And then just fold up this end to close it off a little bit. It doesn't have to be perfect. And then as your kitty knocks this around and plays with it and rolls it around the food will come out and they'll get a little snack. So that's one easy way to do a feeding game. The other way you can do it is you can simply hide food. So take the food dish. It doesn't have to be a water dish too. Take a food dish, put a little bit of food in it and you can hide it on top of their condo here or put it high up on a shelf here so they have to climb to get it. And it makes the feeding time more interesting for them. Gives them something to do. Gets them a little more exercise than they might normally get. And that's a good way to make feeding time more interesting for them."
