"There are many different types of cat litter and your cat may not be using the litter box because it doesn't like the litter that you are offering it. So one of the things I want to show you today are all the different types of litter that are available and then talk with you a little bit about doing a litter box trial with your cat. So this is probably the litter that you're most familiar with. This is a nonclumping clay type litter. The urine just soaks into it. The feces stay on top of it and you have to scoop thoroughly to get all the urine soaked litter out. This next type of litter is a newish kind of litter. It is a corn cob litter. It also does not clump so it works the same way as the clay type litter. Some cats like this because it is softer on their feet and it is a little bit finer grade and some cats will enjoy using this. It is more like sand or dirt outdoors. The third type of litter that is available is a clumping litter. This will cause the urine to come into clumps and will also collect around the feces and this litter is really great if you have multiple cats because the clumps are very easy to remove from the litter box."
